Drogheda postpone Dundalk clash

Drogheda United have today informed Dundalk FC that they are not in a position to fulfill the pre season friendly which had been arranged for next Saturday in United Park.
Due to unforseen circumstances and delays caused by their time in High Court examinership coupled with delays in pitch and ground maintinence caused by the recent bad weather they are unable to fulfill the fixture.
Drogheda United and Dundalk FC have, in recent years, played this high profile pre season friendly for "The Malone Cup" in the memory of the late Jim Malone who was was a high profile figure in league of Ireland circles, The game is always eagerly looked forward to by both sets of fans.
A rescheduled date for the fixture will be anounced in the coming few days and it is expected that the game will be played before the end of February.
