Don Givens will hand debuts to at least four players at Turner's Cross tonight. Cillian Sheridan, David Meyler, and the defensive duo of Brendan Moloney and Shane Lowry will all start against the impressive German side who are managed by Horst Hrubech.

However, James McCarthy was ruled out earlier today with a hamstring injury and will be replaced by the aforementioned Meyler in the middle of the park. Kick off here at Turner's Cross is at 7.30pm

The pitch here at Turner's Cross is immaculate, while the St. Anne's End has been officially opened. The stand is now completed, with a roof and concourse area as well as a scoreboard on the Derrynane side of the stand. The teams are now out on the pitch and beginning their warm-up. It will most certainly be needed as it is freezing cold at the 'Cross.

Referee: Fernando Teixeira Vitienes (Spain)

7.25: The teams have just emerged from the tunnel. The official's are dressed in catching orange attire, which literally blinded the sizeable crowd that has braved the cold at Turner's Cross, tonight.

7.30: And we're off. The Irish have kicked off and are playing into the newly refurbished St. Anne's End.

7.31: Straight away from the kick off the ball was played to Seán Scannell on the left and the Crystal Palace striker cut in before shooting straight at thr german goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer.

7.32: German keeper, Neuer looked very shaky as he kicked the ball out into touch with little or no pressure on him.

7.35: Shane Redmond came to clear after a long ball forward from the German defence. However, he failed to connect properly and the ball fell to Anis Ben-Hatira who shot from just inside the Irish half. Thankfully, his effort was just wide of the unattended goal.

7.40: Some enterprising play from the Irish down the right but Seán Scannell's effort was blocked with ease.

7.42:The Irish seem to be playing a very high line defensively as German striker, Sando Wagner is deemed to be offside.

7.43: Stephen Gleeson shoots from 22 yards but his effort is tame and Neuer saves with ease

7.48: The German's play the ball around a bit without threatening whatsoever as Michael Spillane wins the ball and goes on a mazy run from defence, however, he is halted on the edge of the area.

7.52: GOAL! Germany's Sando Wagner cuts in from the left before shooting. It's blocked by Shane Lowry but Wagner scores from the rebound from the most acute of angles to put his side intoa 1-0 lead after 22 minutes.

7.56: GOAL! Michael Spillane levels the tie with a header into the top corner from 6 yards and for the first time, the 4000 strong crowd make their voices heard.

7.59: Sami Khedira, Germany's captain leaves the field of play after just 29 minutes with Fabian Johnson replacing the midfielder.

8.02: Patrick Ebert fires a thundering free kick over the bar from 30 yards, while directly afterwards local boy David Meyler has a shot blocked.

8.05: Sean Scannell continues to impress and his effort from a tight angle is just wide.

8.07: Shane Redmond makes an excellent save from Daniel Halfer's effort, tipping the ball onto the crossbar and then out for a corner.

8.08: From the resulting corner, Sando Wagner almost doubles his personal tally but this time he is denied by the post. Don Givens won't be too pleased after the Irish defence failed to tighten up twice in short succession.

8.10: Shelbourne are playing Phoenix tonight in a friendly at Martin Savage Park and the 1st division side are one goal down after just ten minutes.

8.13: There's one minute added time to be played here at Turner's Cross. Jerome Boateng picks up a yellow card for a foul on Owen Garvan.

8.15: Ben-Hatira breaks forward after some more slack defending by the Irish. The right winger cuts in before shooting towards goal. Redmond pushes the ball onto the post before diving on the ball as the German strike force advanced goalwards.

HALF-TIME

8.28: Both sides are back out on the pitch and we are now just waiting for our Spanish official's for the second period to begin.

8.29: As promised by Don Givens prior to the game, Stephen Henderson replaces Shane Redmond in goal. The away side also make their second change, with Daniel Adlung replacing Mathias Jaissle.

8.30: Germany kick off and lose posession of the ball instantly.

8.36: A boring enough start to the second period. Although, there is some entertainment from the 150 German supporters behind the St. Anne's End who have decided to remove their tops despite the icy conditions.

8.42: While the first half provided us with some decent football, this second period has been quite dead, with little or no action of note.

8.46: Shels' grab two quick goals at the end of the first half to lead 2-1 at half time. Still nothing to report at the Turner's Cross, though. Unless you consider semi-naked German supporters as newsworthy.

20.49: Spillane almost grabs his second with another solid header but Manuel Neuer saved with ease in the German goal.

8.53: Attendance confirmed as 3160, although it does look like more.

8.55: Ireland advance up the right and debutant Brendan Moloney played in Stephen Gleeson, but the midfielder's effort didn't threaten Neuer.

8.56: Patrick Ebert, gets a chance to make amends from a dead ball situation after a poor enough attempt in the first half. In similar territory, he sends the ball straight at Henderson who hasn't had much to do since his introduction after the break.

9.00: Shels have made it 3-1 against Phoenix with 49 minutes played.

9.02: Owen Garvan fires a free kick straight at the wall from 25 yards after Seán Scannell was fouled.

9.07: Marcel Heller replaces Daniel Halfer for Germany, with about 10 minutes remaining.

21.11: Don Givens seems to be pleased with how his side are working as he hasn't made any change with the exception of Stephen Henderson. Ireland have been the better side with Sheridan going close moments ago with a acrobatic effort.

21.14: Sean Scannell departs the pitch as he is announced man of the match. He is replaced by another debutant Graham Carey.

21.17: 2 minutes added time. Still nothing of note to talk about, unfortunately.

FULL TIME Stay tuned for all the post match reaction.
