Bray announce more new signings

Central defender Chris Deans has returned to Bray Wanderers after a one-season absence, while right-back Stephen Brennan is also on his way to the Carlisle Grounds.

Deans originally signed for Bray in July 2006 after leaving Waterford United, and captained the club before departing to join Sporting Fingal at the beginning of last season.

The 24-year-old previously played for Dundalk and Dublin City, where he kicked off his League of Ireland career, having spent time in England at both Derby County and Coventry City.

Bray manager Eddie Gormley has also completed the signing of former Saint Patrick's Athletic right-back, Stephen Brennan.

The 25-year-old was released by the Saints over two months ago having been at Richmond Park since July 2005. He previously spent almost six years at Newcastle United in England before going on-loan to Shelbourne four months before his permanent move to Inchicore.

This double swoop follows the earlier news that former UCD striker Paul Byrne has joined the Seagulls. The three add to last month's arrival of Longford Town duo, Daire Doyle and Stephen Gough, and a fifth new face could enter the Carlisle Grounds in the coming days if Gormley seals a deal with former Waterford United defender, Dave Mulcahy.

Bray have also announced that goalkeeper Chris O'Connor and defender Dane Massey have both re-signed for the 2009 season.
