Double winners Bohemians have agreed a deal to sign goalkeeper Matt Gregg from UCD.

This will be the English-born stopper's second spell at Dalymount Park, having spent four seasons at the club before leaving to join the Students at the end of the 2007 season.

Pat Fenlon has moved to secure the services of the 30-year-old after last year's back up keeper, Chris Konopka, returned to the US at the end of last season. Gregg will act as back-up to last season's goalkeeper of the year Brian Murphy. Gregg is Fenlon's third new signing for the 2009 season, with former Drogheda United duo Paul Keegan and Brian Shelley having agree to sign for the Gypsies earlier this week.

Gregg, who also counts Crystal Palace, Torquay United and Bray Wanderers among his former clubs, was one of UCD's best performers last season. Gregg was under contract to UCD for the 2009 season, so compensation will have to be agreed between the two clubs, UCD said today.

The Students added that last season's reserve 'keeper Billy Brennan will battle it out for the number one jersey this season with U-20s keeper Ger Barron.

In other news, Bohemians friendly with Waterford United, scheduled for this coming Saturday, has been cancelled.
