Former Shelbourne midfielder James Chambers has signed for English Conference North club Solihull Moors. Chambers spent his entire five-year League of Ireland career at Shels, apart from a one-season loan at Waterford United in 2006, but left Tolka Park shortly after the conclusion of last year's First Division campaign.

Solihull Moors FC was only founded in 2007 after a merger between Moor Green and Solihull Borough and they currently sit 17th in the Conference North having finished in that position at the end of their first season in the league last April. The Moors are now just four points above the drop zone, a stat which led to Chambers' arrival at Damson Park along with three others.

"It’s something that has been coming," said manager, Bob Faulkner. "You can’t duck decisions when things aren’t working. Perhaps we needed a clear-out in the summer but we gave the squad a second chance. Now we’ve had to act and it’s not finished yet. We will see whether it works or not in the next month or so."

Chambers made his debut for Solihull last Saturday in a 3-0 defeat away to Gateshead, however, his first appearance for his new club ended prematurely as he was withdrawn through injury during the first-half.
