Murphy drafted into Ireland squad
MARTIN O'Neill has called goalkeeper Brian Murphy into the Republic of Ireland squad for Wednesday's friendly with Serbia.
The QPR netminder will join up with the Irish panel tomorrow at Gannon Park, Malahide. Murphy's call-up follows the weekend withdrawal of Rob Elliott because of a knee injury.
The ex-Bohemians 'keeper was on the Irish panel for the infamous World Cup play-off against France, but has not been capped at senior level. Murphy's inclusion brings the numbers back up to 27.
Midfielder Andy Reid (hernia) and striker Kevin Doyle (thigh) were confirmed withdrawals over the weekend.
