Longford refute non-payment claims

League of Ireland First Division side Longford Town have refuted claims that they are still in debt to former players and staff. Reports in the national media on Saturday morning stated that ex-employees of the midlanders have written to the FAI informing them that they are still owed money by the club.

However, a statement on Longford's official website yesterday read: "Contrary to reports in today's papers, Longford Town Football Club wish to confirm that all players and management staff have been paid in full in accordance with FAI regulations."
