Connor signs while McNulty remains on Leeside
Goalkeepers Dan Connor and Mark McNulty put pen to paper on two year deals at Cork City yesterday evening.
As revealed on Tuesday, Connor follows Paul Doolin to Leeside from 2007 champions Drogheda. The 27-year-old is quoted in today's edition of the Evening Echo as saying: “I think if I just wanted to play football, I could have stayed in the greater Dublin area, but I want to win medals and trophies and there’s no better place to come to do that than Cork City.”
Meanwhile, McNulty also re-signs after a good end to last season. Despite being an excellent prospect for the past 5 years, he struggled to keep hold of a starting position because of the impressive form of Michael Devine. However, the Ballincollig native did takeover from the ageing Devine at the tail end of 2008.
The news comes after Alan O'Connor and Tim Kiely both signed new contracts with the Rebel Army yesterday. However, new boss Paul Doolin is still keen to bring in more players in his quest to bring a league title south for the first time since 2005.
