Owen Heary Documentary now online

Owen Heary played with Shelbourne for nine years before switching to Dublin rivals Bohemians in 2007, where he recently became player manager. His 20 years playing football in Ireland has earned the Dubliner a legendary status within the league.

 

His haul of seven league titles – five with Shels and two with Bohs – is a record he jointly holds with Johnny Matthews. He also won the FAI Cup twice, the Setanta Sports Cup and the EA Sports Cup.

 

“Owen Heary – The Man and his medals” is a documentary from Peter O’Doherty (podproductions.ie) which focuses on the career of the revered defender.  It features interviews conducted by Cillian Shields with Heary as well as his former team mates Glen Crowe, Steve Williams, Colin Hawkins, Ollie Cahill and Jim Crawford; his former manager Pat Fenlon and soccer writers Mark McCadden and Aidan Fitzmaurice.
