Keegan & Coughlan sign for Shels
Shelbourne have announced the double signing of Jordan Keegan and Gareth Coughlan.
The duo have prior League of Ireland experience but have most recently been playing in the Leinster Senior League.
Keegan signs for the First Division side from Cherry Orchard with whom he spent a brief period after being released from his contract with Dundalk at the end of the 2013 season.
The 21-year-old has also played for St. Patrick’s Athletic, Scunthorpe United and most notably Monaghan United where he made a name for himself by being a key player in their promotion to the Premier Division and turning out a number of eye-catching performances before the club withdrew from the League in 2012.
Coughlan meanwhile joins Shels following a second spell with fellow Dublin side Sacred Heart F.C.
The versatile winger has previously played in the Airtricity League with Bray Wanderers, St. Patrick’s Athletic and Dundalk.
Keegan and Coughlan’s signatures now brings the number of new signings to seven made by Johnny McDonnell for the 2014 season, adding to the acquisitions of Greg Murray, John Sullivan, Conor Murphy, Robbie Gaul and Shane Dolan along with the promotion of a host of player’s from the club’s Under-19 set-up.
