Rod eyes up Longford

Today's Irish Independent reveals that McMullan Properties have reached an agreement with Longford Town to take over the club. According to the article, the agreement would see Roddy Collins become a shareholder in the club and also take over from Aaron Callaghan as manager.

Roddy has previously managed Bohemians, Carlisle and Dublin City before controversially switching to Shamrock Rovers whilst the teams fought it out in a relegation scrap. Of late, he has been a regular pundit on RTE's eircom league coverage and a panellist on new eircom league highlight's programme, Monday Night Soccer.

Longtown Town has not yet confirmed the takeover.
