Dundalk sign two more for 2014
Dundalk have added two further players to their ranks ahead of the current campaign after Marc Griffin and Simon Kelly put pen to paper on deals for 2014.
Neither man is a stranger to Oriel Park with both having previous experience with the Louth outfit and add a touch of much-needed depth to Stephen Kenny's squad.
Kelly, 29, signed back for Dundalk last summer mid-season as back-up to the Lilywhites defence in their title charge for what was his third spell at the club.
He rejoined last year after a stint in Australia but had previously spent four years at the club from 2002 until 2006 and returned in 2008 after a year with Ballymena United.
The Armagh native will give the side an option in both defence and midfield with his versatility being a major asset.
Local lad Griffin has returned to The Town after just a year away in which he move to the Brandywell to join Derry City.
The 22-year-old burst on to the scene with Dundalk three years ago, hitting eight goals but he enjoyed a more frustrating time of it with the Candystripes in 2013.
Not always assured of a position in Declan Devine's starting side, he managed three goals in 22 appearances in total and it is likely he will take the place of Tiarnan Mulvenna who departed last week for Glenavon.
In other Lilywhites news, the club will have announced their first pre-season friendly will take place this Friday night when they welcome Championship strugglers Barnsley to the Carrick Road.
