McGeady swaps Spartak for Everton
Republic of Ireland international Aiden McGeady has ended his Russian adventure after joining up with high-flying Premier League outfit Everton.
The winger has penned a four-and-a-half year deal at Goodison Park after leaving Spartak Moscow for an undisclosed fee.
McGeady had been with Spartak since 2010 after arriving from Celtic where he had come through the youth system and will hook up with The Toffees immediately despite initial speculation suggesting that he would not arrive until the summer.
He was unveiled to those in attendance at Goodison Park before their Premier League clash with Norwich City on Saturday and will provide great competition in wide areas for the likes of Steven Pienaar and Kevin Mirallas.
McGeady also joins a growing Irish contingent on Merseyside with Seamus Coleman, James McCarthy and Darron Gibson all in Robert Martinez's ranks.
During his time in Glasgow, the 27-year-old collected more than 20 individual awards to go with his four league titles, two League Cups and two Scottish Cups.
His time in the Russian capital was not quite as successful as although he helped them to a second placed finish in the league in 2012, he only managed one Copa del Sol title.
However, he did manage 13 goals and 29 assists in his 92 appearances in all competitions there and was a popular figure with supporters there both on and off the park.
