Speaking to braywanderers.iefollowing the confirmation of the appointments, club General Manager Jack O’Neill welcomed his new manager, paid tribute to the previous management team and revealed there will be a number of other announcements to follow from the Carlisle Grounds in the coming weeks.

“We are delighted that Alan Mathews has taken on this role and this will be one of a number of announcements that the club will be making in the coming weeks. We would like to welcome both Alan and Barry back to the club and would like to wish both of them every success for the coming season.

"On behalf of the club we would like to thank Pat Devlin and his backroom team for the marvellous service that they have given to Bray Wanderers since our entry into the League of Ireland in 1985.”
