PFAI Ireland Squad announced for FIFPRO 2014
New year, new start. That could especially be said for the many players around the country out of contract coming into the new League of Ireland season.
Manager Liam O’Brien has named a 17 man squad for the FIFPro Tournament 2014 which will take place on Thursday 9 January 2014 at the Vallhall Arena, Oslo, Norway. The four team tournament for out of contract players will be made up of teams from Ireland, Norway, Sweden and Finland. This is the fourth consecutive year that the event is taking place in Norway.
With many familiar faces in the squad it is relegated Shelbourne who have the most featuring in the tournament. Robert Bayly, Dean Kelly and Glenn Cronin are joined by an array of talent hoping to catch the eye of potential scouts in time for the season.
Gabi Sava was originally named in the squad but has now been replaced by ex-Man United goalkeeper Joe Coll.
