Waterford sign Cobh striker Kynan Rocks
Waterford United have signed the exciting young striker Kynan Rocks who joins the Blues from Cobh Ramblers where he shone on the club’s return to League of Ireland football last season.
The striker was a thorn in the Blues defence in their tie in St Colman’s Park in the sides first meeting in the Cork venue last season, and adds another dimension to an already strong Blues squad.
Rocks joins former Cobh striker Conor Meade in signing for the Blues in their bid for promotion. He has played for the Irish Schools side and he was a member of the Cobh Ramblers U19 squad for the 2012/2013 before earning his place in the Ramblers first team.
Blues boss Tommy Griffin was thrilled to complete the signing of Rocks. “I’m delighted to be able to bring Kynan to the club. He is one of the most exciting players around at the moment,” Griffin told Waterford-United.ie.
“We’ve seen last season that he’s great on the ball, but equally good off the ball. He’s got a great work rate and he has got a fantastic attitude. We’re thrilled to be able to get him on board for the season.”
Tommy Griffin also confirmed that former Blues attacker Joe Mulcahy has also re-signed for the club, while defender Shaun Corcoran has also joined the club from Wexford Youths.
The signings bring the squad to fifteen. Gavin Kavanagh, Conor Whittle, Kevin O'Connor, Paul Quilty, Conor Meade, Rob McLarney, Philip Drohan have all re-signed for the club as well as captain Vinny Sullivan.
Shane Murray (Bohemians), Gary Delaney (Wexford Youths) and Thomas Croke (Wexford Youths) along with the signing of keeper Kevin Burns complete the signings to date.
