Hill takes up managerial reigns at Cobh
Cobh Ramblers have confirmed the appointment of Dave Hill as their new manager for the 2009 season.
Nottingham-born Hill previously had a two year spell as player/manager at Saint Colman's Park which ended in 2004 when he left to take up the role of assistant manager at local rivals Cork City.
The appointment follows the departure of Stephen Henderson at the end of last season following the club's relegation to the First Division.
Cobh said today that Hill will be assisted by Darragh Burke and Alan O’Sullivan with Simon Burke and Peter Rowe on the coaching staff.
O'Sullivan himself had been on a shortlist of four names interested in the managerial position. Former Ramblers player Stephen Neiland and ex-Shelbourne, Derry City and St Patrick’s Athletic defender Dave Rogers were also on the short-list.
Cobh said that pre-season training is set to begin in the coming days.
