One in, one out at Cork City
New Cork City manager Paul Doolin has made former Drogheda United goalkeeper Dan Connor his first signing, but last season's number one, Mick Devine, has confirmed that he is to leave the club.
Connor (28) has agreed a one year deal with the Leesiders after being released by Drogheda at the end of last season. He will fill the position left vacant by Devine, who today said that he has rejected a new deal to stay with Cork.
An angry Devine (35) is quoted in the Evening Echo as saying: "It’s a joke what Cork have offered me. It’s half what I was on last year and I feel they have treated me with a lack of respect.”
As revealed earlier today on extratime.ie, Devine, who joined Cork in 2000 from Waterford United, will rejoin the First Division club later this week after agreeing a year long deal.
