Shane Guthrie's proposed move to Dundalk has fallen through.

The centre back had been in talks with Dundalk manager Sean Connor since the beginning of last week and was due to sign on the dotted line later this week - however the deal fell through at the eleventh hour.

Guthrie played twenty five times for Cobh Ramblers last season in the Premier Division. The 24-year-old has two First Division titles to his name and was a regular in Pat Fenlon's Irish U23 team.

Connor has had extreme difficulty adding to his squad in recent weeks and this is the latest set back in a long line of deals that have stalled or gone sour at an advanced stage.
