English League One side Millwall have handed ex-Bohemians winger John Paul Kelly a trial, with a view to signing the 21-year-old on a permanent basis.

Kelly, a former Liverpool trainee, joined Bohs in 2005 but his time at Dalymount Park ended last November as the Dublin club, who captured the League and Cup double, chose not to renew the youngster's contract.

"John is coming over so we can take a look at him next week, with a view to playing in the reserve game on Tuesday," explained Millwall's chief scout Stuart Murdoch. "He was due to come here a couple of weeks ago, but our reserve game was called off, so we will see how things go."

Millwall currently occupy the play-off places in League One and are ten points off top spot but just six behind the second automatic promotion place.
