Kenny extends contract at Dundalk

Dundalk FC have confirmed that manager Stephen Kenny has signed a contract extension.

Kenny, who signed a two-year deal at the beginning of the 2013, has signed a one year contract extension until 2015.

The Lilywhites have had a superb season and currently find themselves flying high at the top of the Airtricity League Premier Division and have qualified for the semi-finals of the FAI Cup.

Kenny himself has assembled a highly competitive squad which has exceeded all expectations and with the news of his contract extension, it is expected that he will set about tying down members of the current squad.

Speaking on the contract extension, club chairman Ciaran Bond feels this is key to the long-term of the club and expressed his delight at the extension.

“All Dundalk fans have been thrilled with the level of performances from the team this year. Stephen’s professionalism, work-rate and passion for the job have been a major factor in the club’s revival this year. The club will benefit from stability and reaching agreement with Stephen on a contract extension for a further year until the end of the 2015 season is a major boost to our long-term plans for the club.”

Meanwhile, the Louth club have confirmed that they are launching their own ‘500 club’ with details to be confirmed in the coming week.
