Drogheda Deliver on Debts
In a week that has seen three offers been made to the players of Drogheda United (Two identical, the third, perhaps, slightly less identical), everyone seems pleased that an agreement has finally been made.
The club announced today as much, with Chairman Vincent Hoy urging the charity givers to give more charity, despite this breakthrough. Noone listened to us when we said buy shares in Fyffe’s just before Christmas…noone listened. In nice and warm words, here’s the news:
‘We are pleased to announce that a settlement has been agreed with the players in relation to outstanding monies owed to them by Drogheda United FC. The PFAI has accepted that this offer is in full and final settlement to all players.
‘There have been a lot of people working behind the scenes who have enabled this agreement to be reached. We would particularly like to thank Dermot McKenna, Stephen McGuinness and FAI CEO John Delaney for the efforts throughout the negotiation process.
‘Vincent Hoy Quote; "The fact is that we have in essence crossed Beechers Brook but we still have a number of tricky fences to negotiate. The support we have received from fans and the general public has been tremendous but I am appealing to all to continue the fund raising drive that will secure the future of Drogheda United".
