Cork bolster squad with three signngs
With the start of the new Bus Éireann Women’s National League on August 25th fast approaching, Cork Women’s FC have bolstered their ranks with the signing of Mary White, Amy Dineen and Rebecca Horgan.
White, a star of the local CWSSL Premier Division, joins the Leesiders from the Examiner/Evening Echo team and can play in most positions comfortably while Horgan signs from Listowel.
Dineen joins from the West Cork League and has represented Cork at minor level in Gaelic games. The teenager has also had an immediate impact on her arrival, scoring a brace on her debut in pre-season.
Speaking on the signings, manager Farrell said:
“It’s great to add three talents to the team like Mary, Rebecca and Amy. Mary is bringing a wealth of experience to the team and we have no doubt that she’ll be an asset to the team from the get-go.
“Amy and Rebecca were playing Gaynor Cup, and we’re delighted that exciting Cork talent is signing for the team. We really think they can make the step-up to play at a national level.”
These signings bring to 17 the number of players Farrell has signed up with more new arrivals expected ahead of their curtain raiser away to Castlebar Celtic on 25th August.
