Heary & Murphy take SWAI honours

Bohemians duo Owen Heary and Brian Murphy got their hands on yet more silverware last night as they picked up the top honours at the Eircom/Soccer Writers Association awards.
Gypsies captain Heary was named Personality of the Year, while the gong for Goalkeeper of the Year went to Murphy.
The two players were ever-presents in the Bohs side which swept to a league and cup double this season. The were the cornerstones of a defensive line which conceded a meagre 13 goals in the league.
Murphy was this week also named player of the month for November after he starred in the FAI Ford Cup final. Heary was the recipient of the award for October.
Elsehwere on the night, the late Noel O'Reilly was posthumously awarded the SWAI's Merit Award for his contribution to Irish football.
