Blues say negotiations underway with Henderson
Waterford United have confirmed that talks are ongoing to find a resolution after a winding-up petition was made against the club.
The petition by former manager Stephen Henderson was processed in the courts on Monday and a court date in July was set to decide the future of the club.
The south-east club released a statement on Wednesday evening to say that negotiations had begun and that the club were confident of finding a resolution.
“Having been today made aware of Stephen Henderson's petition to wind up the club, negotiations have been opened between both parties.
“Waterford United is confident that a successful resolution will be found that will be acceptable and that a proud 83 year tradition of soccer in Waterford as well as over twenty jobs, will be protected and maintained into the future.”
