Airtricity Premier Division Betting - Gameweek 11

Attention betting column readers - anyone with any beef about my tips last week can address their concerns to:

T. Croly

Tallaght Stadium

Whitestown Way

Dublin 24

That's right, my 8/1 Tricky Treble was ruined by the Hoops and their abysmal 1-man up front defeat to UCD. Bar that, I got 3 out of 6 right, which isn't all that bad! This week sees the first round of fixtures coming to a close, and we've got some tough games on our hands.

Bray Wanderers V Dundalk

I called it early, Dundalk made some shrewd signings, and look really good for a top half finish this season. Bray are in freefall, they haven't won since the opening week, and have lost their last three on the bounce, conceding 14. Ouch. Pat Devlin can hop up and down on the sideline like a crazed Warwick Davis all he likes - it won't save them from a 4th defeat in a row tonight.
Betting: Dundalk at 3/4

Cork City V St Patrick's Athletic

Having seen it a few times on the telly, I finally got to see Liam Buckley's hair in the flesh on Monday night. In the moonlight, his barnet looked very similar to the straw-like bedding I used to put down for my gerbil when I was a kid. On the pitch, his Pats team amazingly didn't beat Bohs - denting their title charge (it was their game in hand). More on how they didn't win below, but I think they'll bounce back tonight. Everyone seems to think Cork will be ok this season. Their general Cork-y blasé cockiness irks me. Away win.
Betting: St Pats at 11/10

Derry City V Limerick

Sometimes, games just scream at me. This one screams - HOME WIN

Betting: Half time/full time - Derry City / Derry City at 17/10

Drogheda United V Bohemians

I have fallen in love with a man named Dave Mulcahy. That's right, his defensive performance against Pats was so good, it became amorously funny. At one stage, he clashed heads, was spread-eagled on the ground - apparently unconscious, and still blocked a shot. With Stephen Paisley boring off into the work-commitment sunset, Mulcahy could be due for a longer stint at centre half. I think he might inspire some kind of result for Bohs tonight.
Betting: Double Chance - Bohemians and Draw at 11/10

Shamrock Rovers V Sligo Rovers

As mentioned above, Trevor "one man up front against UCD" Croly can reimburse you all for managing to ruin a lovely little treble last Friday. Rovers have won two games out of 10, and are already out of the title race, regardless of this result. However, I think they might just edge this one, possibly blowing the title race that they aren't in - wide open. If they don't, I wouldn't want to be Mr Croly in the morning!
Betting: Shamrock Rovers at 13/8

Shelbourne V UCD

Oooooh. A relegation six pointer - this early in the season!? Yes, yes it is. A win for the Students will put them five clear of their Dublin rivals, while a first win for Shels will more than likely leap them out of the relegation zone. Gotta be a draw then!

Betting: Draw at 11/5

KF's Tricky Treble: Shamrock Rovers, St. Pats and Dundalk at a very tasty looking 9/1.
