Rotherham United manager Steve Evans has unveiled the list of players retained and released following the 2023/24 season.

The club faces a significant summer overhaul, with 16 players set to depart.

Steve Evans stated, "There have been some honest and open discussions with players in and out of contract, and we have had to make some really difficult decisions."

Those leaving are senior professionals Cafu, Curtis Durose, Grant Hall, Joel Holvey, Lee Peltier, Nat Ford, Sam Clucas, Sean Morrison ,Shane Ferguson,Tolaji Bola and Tyler Blackett, whose contracts have expired.

The club also plans to listen to offers for Jamie McCart and Josh Kayode, both under contract but available for transfer.

Evans confirmed that negotiations have started with Jamie Lindsay, whose contract was also due to expire this summer.

Meanwhile, the club has activated an option to extend young professional Ciaran McGuckin's contract for another year.

Evans added, "Everyone in the building has been a pleasure to work with since I walked through the door, and those departing do so with our very best wishes."

Five loan players are returning to their parent clubs, Andy Rinomhota, Arvin Appiah, Charlie Wyke, Femi Seriki and Seb Revan.
