League Preview: Wexford -v- UCD

WEXFORD

Third meets fourth at Ferrycarrig Park as UCD travel to Wexford, both seeking to close the gap to second place.

After only winning one of their opening three, Wexford enter this one on a six-game unbeaten run.

They were, though, denied a third successive win at the death last week as a late Longford Town leveller from substitute, Jordan Adeyemo forced a draw.

Having dispatched UCD in Dublin back in March, though, Wexford will be confident of returning to winning ways again against The Students.

UCD

Level on fifteen points with their hosts, UCD start ahead on goal difference alone, three and seven points behind Finn Harps and Cork City, respectively.

Whilst they are also half-a-dozen league matches unbeaten, three successive draws have halted their momentum.

Ciaran Behan netted their only two goals in that run against Kerry and Harps with last week’s scoreless stalemate with Cork uneventful.

Behan has impressed with his five goals so far whilst the creative impetus of Jake Doyle continues to shine through in an impressively resilient, youthful, side.

Referee: Mark Moynihan.

MATCH STATS

Kian Corbally and Sean McHale struck in Wexford’s win at the UCD Bowl with Eanna Clancy’s strike only proving a consolation.

Wexford are yet to keep a clean sheet in ten attempts and have conceded two goals in their last three encounters.

UCD have only scored more than one goal this season on one occasion, the 3-0 home win over Athlone Town.
