Leicester Women have confirmed the loan signing of defender Asmita Ale from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the 2023/24 Barclays Women's Super League season.

The 22-year-old full-back brings considerable experience from her time in both the Women's Super League (WSL) and Women's Championship, having played for Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur.

Ale expressed her enthusiasm about the new opportunity, telling LCFC.com, “I am really excited to be here and grateful for the opportunity. This is a great Club to come to, and I’m looking forward to getting started. At my age, it’s important to have game-time to develop as a player. Joining Leicester will be good for me, and hopefully, I can help the team put some more points on the board.”

An England youth international, Ale adds depth to Willie Kirk's squad, enhancing Leicester's defensive options for the second half of the season.

She began her career at Aston Villa, signing her first professional contract shortly after turning 18. Ale played a significant role in Villa's promotion to the WSL in the 2019/20 season.

After four successful years with Villa, Ale moved to Tottenham in the 2021/22 season. She has also represented England at various youth levels, including the inaugural Under-23 European League.

Ale is set to join her new teammates as Leicester prepares for their upcoming match against Everton away from home on Sunday, 28 January, with a 12:30 pm GMT kick-off.
