Walsall have announced the signing of 20-year-old striker Mo Faal on loan from Championship side West Bromwich Albion for the remainder of the season.

Faal, who spent the first half of the campaign on loan at League Two side Doncaster Rovers, impressed with nine goals in all competitions.

Previously, Faal had a successful loan spell at AFC Fylde in the National League North, where he scored 10 goals in 16 matches.

His football journey also includes loan stints at Hereford and AFC Telford United, along with two senior appearances for West Bromwich Albion, including a Championship debut against Sunderland in March 2023.

Expressing his eagerness for the new opportunity, Faal said, “I’m happy to be here. I like to win a lot of headers; I like challenging for the ball and I’ve got a bit of technical ability.”

He aims to utilize his all-round capabilities to improve and contribute to the team.

“I want to learn as much as possible here and work with the coaches to become a better player and score as many goals as I can to help the team,” he added.

Mat Sadler, Walsall's Head Coach, expressed his satisfaction with the new signing.

“Mo is someone I have looked at for a long time,” Sadler said.

He highlighted Faal's previous successful loans and his excitement to see Faal's development at Walsall.

“He’s an exciting young player and I’m really looking forward to seeing how he develops over the next few months,” Sadler noted.
