Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced the signing of Romanian international Radu Drăgușin from Serie A side Genoa, pending international clearance and a work permit.

The central defender has committed to the club with a contract running until 2030 and will sport the number six shirt.

Drăgușin, originally from Bucharest, Romania, began his football journey with local teams Sportul Studentesc and Regal Sport Bucuresti.

In 2018, he moved to Italy to join Juventus, quickly progressing through their youth ranks.

At 17, he made appearances for Juventus' Under-23 side and debuted professionally at 18 in a UEFA Champions League match against Dynamo Kyiv in December 2020.

Following his time at Juventus, where he made four first-team appearances, Drăgușin went on loan to Sampdoria for the 2021/22 season, playing 15 games.

He then joined US Salernitana 1919 at the start of 2022, contributing to their survival in Serie A.

Drăgușin's successful loan spell at Genoa during the 2022/23 season was a turning point.

He played nearly every minute of their league season, scoring four goals and helping the team secure promotion back to Serie A.

Midway through the season, Genoa made his transfer permanent, and Drăgușin continued to excel, playing every minute of the current campaign and scoring twice.

On the international stage, after rising through Romania’s youth ranks, Drăgușin received his first senior call-up in March 2022, debuting against Greece. To date, he has earned 13 caps.
