QPR secure services of experienced midfielder Jack Colback
Queens Park Rangers have announced the signing of experienced midfielder Jack Colback on a two-year contract, with an option for a further year.
The 33-year-old joins QPR as a free agent after his contract with Nottingham Forest expired.
Colback, who kick-started his career with Sunderland, has had stints with Ipswich, Newcastle, and Nottingham Forest, amassing considerable Premier League and Championship experience.
The midfielder is eager to begin his journey at Loftus Road.
"I’m happy and excited to get going. I’m excited to be part of what the manager wants to do here. It was an easy decision," he said.
Acknowledging the tough nature of the Championship, Colback said, “This is a tough league, it’s relentless. I am well used to that and prepared for it."
Last season, Colback made 11 Premier League appearances for Forest following their promotion from the Championship in 2021/22.
QPR's manager, Gareth Ainsworth, expressed his pleasure over the signing, praising Colback's energy, experience, quality on the ball, and winning mentality.
“I am really pleased to bring Jack in. He is a great player and he had one or two other suitors but he chose QPR because he wants to buy into what we are trying to do here, which is great.
“He will add energy and experience to us. He has got quality on the ball, but he has tenacity off it and a winning mentality, which will hopefully be contagious.”
