Zara’s Biography

Zara played underage football with Lakewood in Cork before joining Cork City in July 2018. She was part of the team that reached the 2020 FAI Women's Cup final which they lost to Peamount United. Zara appeared in all 15 of City's league and Cup matches that year, scoring once, in a 5-2 win over Treaty United.

Zara played in only 3 of Cork City's games in 2021due to injury but appeared in 26 of the club's 29 matches in 2022. Injury struck again in 2023 when, having been made club captain by manager Danny Murphy, Zara suffered a knee injury that ruled her out for the entire season.

In fact the injury was to end Zara's playing career when she was advised by her medical team to retire in September of 2023.

Zara was capped for the Republic of Ireland at U17, U19 and senior levels, making her one senior appearance against Poland in 2018.
