Matthew’s Biography

Matthew is a goalkeeper who played for Waterford side Tramore AFC in the 2012/13 season. In January 2014 he played on trial with Waterford United and impressed enough to join the club's first team. He made his league debut in the south-east derby away to Wexford Youths on 16 May 2014 and made a total of 5 league appearances that year.

In 2015 Matthew made eighteen league appearances for the Blues in the First Division as they finished seventh. In January 2016, Matthew moved to local rivals Wexford Youths for the 2016 Premier Division campaign although he stayed as the number two behind Graham Doyle in the league during his time at he club.

On July 9th, 2016, Connor played for Cork City in a friendly against Fulham and signed for the Premier Division club after the game. He did not make a senior appearance for the Rebels and in January 2017 he moved on, signing back at Waterford FC under Pat Fenlon.

Matt played with Waterford for the next three seasons, leaving at the end of 2019. His next stop was with Galway United and he joined them in August 2020, playing out the remainder of that season at Eamonn Deacy Park.

In January 2021, Matthew signed back with Waterford and after one season at the RSC he went back to Galway United, signing for John Caulfield in January 2022. The following year he again took the much travelled path back to the RSC for 2023 but left in July to go to Bray Wanderers.
