WEXFORD
The home side will be hoping for some better luck in Friday’s fixture at Ferrycarrig Park when they host Longford Town (kick-off is 7:45pm).
James Keddy’s side have recorded only one win in their last five fixtures, with their most recent defeat being at Eamonn Deacy Park last weekend after Galway snatched a 2-0 win.
The club have confirmed that Evan Farrell has suffered a setback in his recovery from an ongoing knee injury, with Thomas Considine and Aaron Robinson also remaining on the sidelines.
Their reliable forward, Aaron Dobbs, will hope to be back fully fit in time for this clash after picking up a small knock, and Conor Levingston is also expected to re-join the squad following a minor injury.
In the previous meeting between the two sides, it was Wexford who took home all three points when Dobbs netted a brace at Bishopsgate last month.
LONGFORD TOWN
Stephen Henderson’s side will be looking to bounce back after last week’s heavy 3-0 home defeat to Treaty United.
Despite the loss, they did have a decent run of form beforehand after snatching two wins and two draws, leaving them just one point behind Wexford in the table.
Longford are expected to be without goalkeeper Jack Brady who was sent down the tunnel early after a second yellow in last weekend’s fixture.
They will need to be cautious of rivals Finn Harps, who are level on points heading into this round of games. The Donegal side host Waterford but have only secured one win in their last five fixtures.
A win for either Longford or Wexford won’t be enough for them to catch Treaty in sixth place but will be a huge confidence boost in their bid for a promotion spot.
