Drogheda United have announced the re-signing of Luke Heeney for his seventh consecutive season at the club.
Having lined out 39 times last season for the 2024 FAI Cup winners, the versatile 25 year old expressed his delight at adding to his 158 appearances so far for the club since his arrival from St Patrick’s Athletic at the end of the 2018 season.
Speaking to club media he said,“It feels great to get the deal done and be back for my seventh year at the club which is mad to think about but I’m really looking forward to the year ahead.
“Making that jump to full time football is something I can’t wait for and I’m delighted it’s here at Drogheda.
“The club has come so far since I first signed but to be here now looking forward to a year that involves a European adventure is unbelievable. It’s something that the players, staff and fans deserve and it’s just really exciting times ahead for us all and I can’t wait.”
