Drogheda United re-sign Luke Dennison and Shane Farrell for 2025
Drogheda United have strengthened their team for the 2025 season by securing new contracts with two key players, goalkeeper Luke Dennison and midfielder Shane Farrell.
Dennison, who joined the club in July after an 18-month stint with Bohemians, quickly established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper.
The 28-year-old made 18 appearances in 2024, delivering eight clean sheets.
Reflecting on his time with Drogheda so far, Dennison said: “It has been an amazing experience since joining the club in the summer. An amazing group of players and staff along with the community behind the club, it has been special to be a part of."
“It was an amazing end of the year with winning the cup and the playoff final, and I can’t wait to build on it in 2025.”
Farrell, a 24-year-old midfielder, joined Drogheda mid-season after amassing over 170 appearances for Shelbourne.
Since his arrival, he has become an integral part of manager Kevin Doherty's side, making 16 appearances in 2024. Farrell’s contributions helped as the club secured its Premier Division status and celebrated an FAI Cup victory.
Farrell expressed his excitement about continuing with Drogheda.
“It feels amazing to be back. I’ve loved every minute since arriving in the summer. The club, Kevin, and all of the staff have treated me so well, and I can’t wait to get back to work now.
“The Drogs fans are the best in the league. I’m glad they took to me as soon as they did. They’ll be massive for us again next year—they just give you that boost that we saw all throughout last season.”
