Former Longford Town and Galway United winger Carlton Ubaezuonu has joined Chorley in the English non-leagues.

Ubaezuonu, 25, also played for Athlone Town for a period before moving to England.

Last season, the winger played for National League North side Farsley Celtic and helped the club avoid the drop and reach the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy.

But he has stayed at National League North level to join Chorley ahead of the 2023/23 season.

“It’s great to have Carlton on board as our first new signing of the summer,” Chorley boss Andy Preece said.

“He had an excellent 2022/23 season with Farsley and we saw first-hand how dangerous he can be in front of goal.

“He gives good balance to the team, is very adaptable and at 25 he still has a lot of potential, so it’s great he chose Chorley over other clubs.”
