Laura Heffernan takes charge of DLR Waves after Graham Kelly departs

Women’s Premier Division side DLR Waves have confirmed the appointment of Laura Heffernan as their new first-team manager.
Heffernan, who previously managed Wexford Youths, has been Waves’ assistant boss in recent times under former chief Kelly.
But she has been promoted to her new role after Kelly moved to St Patrick’s Athletic to undertake a coaching role under Jon Daly at Richmond Park.
In a statement released on Tuesday night, Waves wished their outgoing manager well ahead of his new challenge.
“A huge thank you to the committee, coaches, & all the players I've had the pleasure to work with over the past 5 years,” Kelly wrote on social media.
“(It was) a really tough decision to leave (and) especially with the current group of players & staff.”
“A special thank you to Laura Heffernan for all your help and support.”
