Cork City FC's appeal against the red card issued to player Cian Coleman has been rejected by an independent Appeal Committee of the Football Association of Ireland.

The decision was announced following a review of the incident that occurred during Cork City FC's SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division match against Dundalk FC on May 12, 2023. Coleman was sent off the field due to serious foul play, a decision that Cork City FC appealed as a wrongful dismissal.

The FAI's ruling confirms that Coleman's red card will be upheld and, as a result, he will be required to serve a two-match suspension in accordance with the FAI Disciplinary Regulations.
