League Preview: Treaty United -v- Kerry

TREATY UNITED

Tommy Barrett’s Treaty United welcome Munster rivals Kerry to the Market’s Field on Monday night as they eye a second win of the season (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Shannonsiders claimed a point away to Cobh Ramblers last Friday night and have enjoyed an upturn in results over the last number of weeks.

A home win against Longford Town helped steer their campaign in the right direction after a winless start.

But that was their last home success as they fell to a heavy loss against Waterford on Monday night.

And they are expected to go into the game against Kerry without the services of Marc Ludden, Mark Walsh and goalkeeper Connor Winn.

KERRY

Billy Dennehy’s Kerry visit the Market’s Field for the first time as a senior League of Ireland club on Friday to play Treaty United.

And in doing so, they are still searching for their first win of the campaign.

“We try to win every game,” Kerry boss Dennehy said this week. “We haven’t managed to do that yet but the ambition and drive has not changed.

“We are still going into every game believing that we can.

“Although the 9-1 defeat to Galway was a difficult one for all of us, we still went into the game last week against them thinking we could win it.

“That’s what we are striving to do and we are building all the time. Friday gives us an opportunity to get that first win.

“A lot of the players are starting to come into their own. I think the overall group is contributing a lot more and we will need that in the next few weeks.”

Referee: Ian O’Keefe.
