League Preview: Finn Harps -v- Treaty United

FINN HARPS

After a poor start to the season, Dave Rogers and his Finn Harps side welcome Treaty United to Finn Park on Friday night (kick-off is at 8pm).

Harps have yet to win at home this term, and they were recently beaten 7-1 away to Waterford at the RSC.

But last weekend they avoided defeat against Kerry and will be looking to use that as a source of motivation ahead of their home tie against Tommy Barrett’s Treaty United.

“We are excited to be back at Finn Park tomorrow evening in what will be another stern challenge by a Treaty United team buoyed by their first win of the season last week vs Longford Town,” Rogers said.

“After a very disappointing and unexpected score line and defeat away to Waterford, we challenged the players to make sure that we bounce back away to Kerry.

“We wanted to get back doing the basics and fundamentals right – which had us unbeaten in our previous four games.

“Treaty United will once again provide us with a challenge we must be at our best if we are to gain three points.

“One thing I can say about our young players is that they are proud to play for Finn Harps and they are determined to win more games to move up the table.”

Cian Lynch and Keith Cowan are ruled out with injuries.

TREATY UNITED

Unlike opponents Finn Harps, Treaty United go into Friday’s game off the back of a win.

Tommy Barrett’s side saw off Longford Town last weekend at the Market’s Field with a 3-2 victory.

But it was a largely forgettable game that ensued at the Market’s Field, with neither side impressing.

And remarkably, Lee Devitt’s goal ended a run of over 900 minutes without a player (apart from Enda Curran) scoring a league goal for the Shannonsiders.

However, an away win at Finn Park would see Barrett’s side catapult themselves up the table as the play-off picture begins to shape itself after an inconsistent start for many teams.

Treaty are yet to issue team news for the game.
