Eoghan Stokes links up with Aaron O'Driscoll at Christchurch United

Former League of Ireland attacker Eoghan Stokes has joined New Zealand part-time outfit Christchurch United.

Stokes, 26, has been without a club since leaving Scottish lower-league outfit Dumbarton at the end of the 2021/22 season.

But he has ended up at Christchurch United in New Zealand's Southern League.

And he joins former Longford Town and Shelbourne defender Aaron O'Driscoll at the club this season.

Stokes has previously been on the books of Leeds United, Bohemians, Derry City and Cork City in the senior League of Ireland ranks.

Christchurch won their first game of the season with a 3-0 win at home against Green Island - with O'Driscoll scoring in the win.
