SLIGO ROVERS
Sligo Rovers welcome Bohemians to the Showgrounds on Saturday evening (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
John Russell’s side have turned in some impressive performances so far this season and have already taken points off Shamrock Rovers and Derry City.
And their boss is hoping that his side can continue to shine against the Gypsies.
“Bohemians have had a good start to the season,” Russell explained. “They come into this game full of confidence so, we know we are facing a tough opponent.
“Our home support has been brilliant so far this season. I feel there is a real connection developing between the supporters and this team.
“We’re expecting another big turn out on Saturday night. You can’t underestimate the role the supporters play in making The Showgrounds a fortress this season.
“We will be ready. The players are eager to get the season going again after the international break. It’s a home game for us and we’re expecting a top performance.”
BOHEMIANS
Bohemians will be hoping to maintain their good start to the season when they take on Sligo Rovers on Saturday night.
Bohs have shone under new boss Declan Devine and are just behind Derry City in the table with a game less played.
And they will be confident heading into Saturday’s clash with the Bit O’ Red.
“We have been good on the road so far – going to difficult venues like Turner’s Cross and Richmond Park and winning, and were unfortunate in Tolka Park when we were down to 10 men,” manager Devine said.
“But this is another huge test for us going to the Showgrounds in front of a full house on a Saturday night.
“It is a game that every single person at the club is looking forward to – the games cannot come quick enough for us, and we have to embrace them.
“Sligo have good players. John Russell has them playing a completely different brand of football to what they had been playing.
“They have been formidable at home. They beat St Pat’s with 10 men, scored a last-minute equaliser against Shamrock Rovers, and went to the Brandwell and drew.
“They have been performing really well in big games so we know that it is a really difficult fixture where we will have to be at our very best.”
