Having played out a 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night, Katie McCabe’s Arsenal side will be hoping they come overcome the deficit in the UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-final second leg next week.

The Gunners fell behind to a 39th minute header from player-of-the-match Lea Schuller.

The English side showed enough attacking intent to give them optimism ahead of the second leg.

They took 25 shots on goal but only three found their target as they drew a blank against the German side who are unbeaten since last October (including winning their last 13 matches).

"I think we probably deserved a goal in the end,” said Arsenal captain Kim Little after the match when talking with uefa.com. “We're disappointed with our first-half performance, but in the second half we showed a lot of character to come out the way we did.

"We need to make sure to take our chances next week, and I'm sure we'll do that."

The second leg takes place at the Emirates Stadium in London on 29th March with the winners due to play Paris Saint-Germain or Wolfsburg in the semi-finals in the last two weeks of April. The Champions League Final is set for Eindhoven on 3rd June.
