Dundalk Head Coach Stephen O’Donnell insists the uncertainty surrounding the ownership of the club is a “non-issue” for himself, the players and the staff.

Reportedly the Lilywhites are set to be bought out by the owners of EFL Championship outfit Hull City with Tigers manager Liam Rosenior speaking about the possibility during the week.

Speaking after Dundalk went down 2-1 away to Bohemians at Dalymount where ironically ex Hull and Dundalk midfielder Jordan Flores opened the scoring, O’Donnell says the speculation and rumours haven’t affected the team.

“It’s not in my remit, I don’t know anything about it to be honest with you,” said O’Donnell speaking to extratime.com after the game.

“I have full trust in the current owners of the club. They’ll do what they think is best for the club but with regards our focus or me, I’m just the playing side and coaching and it doesn’t affect us.

The Turkish owners of Hull were pictured at Richmond Park at the St Patrick’s Athletic and Shelbourne Premier Division game having allegedly turned their attention to Shels who are openly looking for investment after a deal with Southampton owners Sport Republic collapsed over the winter.

“From a fan’s point of view they obviously want to know what's going to be the outcome or what’s happening,” O’Donnell continued.

“It doesn’t really affect ourselves day to day, we have enough to concentrate on from the football side of it, so it doesn’t make a difference to the playing side.

“I haven’t heard any of the players talk about it, we haven’t even addressed it, it’s a non issue with us and our full focus is on the training ground and the football pitch.”
