Kerry FC have announced the signing of Kevin Williams and Aaron O’Sullivan ahead of their inaugural season in the League of Ireland which begins on Friday night.

Williams returns to Kerry having come through the Kingdom’s Academy. The 22 year old went on to play for Cork City and Cobh Ramblers before having a spell in Germany with Inter Leipzig and FSC Union Fürstenwalde.

The defender has committed to the club alongside 19 year old O’Sullivan who has also graduated through the ranks of Kerry’s Academy and adds a further goalkeeping option for manager Billy Dennehy with Wayne Guthrie and Callan Scully already signed.

“Yeah It’s simple I’m looking forward to playing in this league especially with Kerry as it’s where I’ve grown up playing football in my youth career.

“It is exciting times as I get to show what I can do as a footballer and what this team and county can achieve together,” Williams said, speaking to the club’s media team.

O'Sullivan also spoke of his excitement at signing for Kerry.

“To sign for Kerry FC is something that I’m very proud of as I get to represent where I’m from. It’s something that I’ve been excited about and working hard towards for a long time.

“To team up with Wayne and Callan is a huge experience for me and I can’t wait for the season to kick off.”

Kerry begin their season when they host Cobh Ramblers at Mounthawk Park on Friday night (kick-off 7.45pm).
