New Wexford manager James Keddy continues the process of overhauling his squad for the new season with the signing this week of former player Danny Furlong.

Furlong is the 14th addition to the Wexford squad so it will be almost a completely new look side which takes the field in their opening SSE Airtricity First Division match at home to Waterford on Friday February 17th.

Unlike the other new recruits however Furlong is no stranger to Ferrycarrig Park as this will be his fourth stint at the club.

The 33-year-old Rosslare native first appeared in Wexford colours back in 2008 and returned on two other occasions in 2014 and 2019.

He also had spells at Cork City when Tommy Dunne was their manager and had short periods with Waterford (on loan) and Galway United.

He returned to junior football in Wexford on two occasions with his local club Rosslare Rangers and more recently with North End United, before linking up with his new teams this week at Ferrycarrig Park.

He is best known for creating a First Division goal scoring record in 2015, notching 30 league goals in 28 appearances, a record which still stands to this day.
