Cork City re-sign Jimmy Corcoran

Cork City’s manager Colin Healy has announced his latest re-signing ahead of the 2023 season – sealing the services of Jimmy Corcoran.

City had a successful season last year in which they won the First Division title and promotion back to the Premier Division.

And the 20-year-old has re-signed for the club.

Corcoran joined from Wexford to provide competition for the likes of David Harrington and Mark McNulty last season.

And he previously been with Preston North End and Dundalk while appearing with the Irish underage sides.

He primarily started in the cup games but managed three clean sheets in the four league games he played.

With interest from English clubs for Harrington, and the retirement of McNulty, it was crucial to secure his services

Speaking with CorkCityFC.ie, he said: “It is great for this club to be back in the Premier Division, which is where the club should be.

“I know we are all looking forward to that opening game at Turners Cross, and I’m sure there will be a big crowd there to support us.

“Firstly though, we need to get back on the pitch in pre-season, so that’s where our focus is now.”
