Séamas Keogh has signed a two-year deal with Finn Harps as Dave Rogers continues to assemble his squad for the 2023 First Division campaign.
The 20-year-old played for Sligo Rovers' Under-17 side in 2017 before joining Southampton in 2018.
In 2019, he captained the Republic of Ireland Under-17s at the European Championships. Séamas signed back with Sligo Rovers in June 2021 before making the switch to Ballybofey.
Keogh decided to make the move after listening to Rogers and how passionate the new manager was about what he wanted to do with the club.
“I’m very excited to be here. After speaking to Dave and hearing his passion and vision for the club I knew that I had to be part of that journey.
“I can’t wait to be playing in Finn Park and to meet all the fans. As soon as I spoke to Dave and heard the way he spoke about the club, I knew I wanted to be here and show what I can do!”
Rogers was also delighted to make the signing and sees Keogh as a key part of his plans.
“I am absolutely delighted to bring Séamas to Finn Harps on a 2 year contract,” Rogers told club media.
“From our very first meeting, I could sense the passion and hunger in Séamas and his desire to commit and be part of our future was a real plus point for me.
“His technical ability and game understanding is second to none and Séamas fits all the criteria and profile of the type of player and person I want at Finn Harps FC.”
Keogh will be joined next season by Keith Cowan as well as Caoimhin Porter and Daithi McCallion both on-loan from Derry City.
